“Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity.”
You can receive Jesus Christ into your heart right now by faith through prayer, which is simply talking to God. Don’t worry about getting all the words perfect. God knows your heart. You can talk to Him in your own words, or you can say something like this:
“Lord Jesus, I recognize that doing things my way has not brought me lasting peace or fulfillment. I need you to come into my heart and fill that void. Thank you for dying on the cross for the wages of my sin. I hear you knocking on the door of my heart and I am now opening the door and asking you to come in and make my heart your home. Thank you for forgiving my sins and rising on the third day to bring me freedom, and for giving me eternal life. Give me the strength to walk in your will. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.”
Do you know that if you prayed that prayer, Jesus has come into your heart, and the Bible tells us in the New Testament, in the book of 2 nd Corinthians, in the 5 th Chapter and the 17 th verse that;
“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come. All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ…”
That means that you are no longer the person you used to be because all of your sin and the wages associated with them are no longer to be counted against you. Further, you now will have eternal life, that is, He will never leave you, and when you die a physical death, you will spend all of eternity with Him.
Now that you’ve received Jesus in your heart it’s important for you to tell someone who will encourage you in your newfound faith in God. If you know of any other Christian people, call them and share your decision. If not, find a Christian church (make sure it’s Bible based) and call them and share the good news.
